FUGLEN COFFEE DRIP BAG / ALAN VARGAS & TOMAS GUTIERREZ, COSTA RICA

Sale price HK$130.00

Fuglen Coffee pays special attention to the capacity of each coffee bag.
Most drip coffee bags hold 12 grams, but our bags are larger, holding 14 grams. This size is just right for brewing a large cup of coffee.

Recommended brewing ratio: 200-230 grams of hot water.
Each coffee bag is rinsed with nitrogen to preserve the flavor of freshly ground coffee for as long as possible.

Founded in 2007 by agronomist Tomas Gutierrez and engineer Allan Vargas, Finca V&G San Juanillo is located in the Naranjo region of Costa Rica. Driven by the vision of "creating the ideal coffee farm through science and sustainability," the two established a model farm that combines modern agricultural technology with the concept of natural symbiosis.

The farm employs soil and leaf analysis for cultivation and management, fertilizing three times a year to precisely replenish the necessary nutrients. To address climate change, they select blends of highly resistant and flavorful varieties such as H1, H17, and Marsellesa, and continuously conduct experiments with foliar fertilization and biostimulants. Their meticulous management and innovation have resulted in a consistent improvement in coffee quality, even achieving excellent results in the Cup of Excellence competition.

In terms of processing, they use the Red Honey process, further refined to the Dark Honey process. After harvesting, the cherries are left to stand for 24 hours to promote fermentation, retaining some of the pulp and mucilage to add layers of sweetness. After a short period of ground drying, they are then aged for 15 days in elevated sun-drying. This process results in a coffee with rich fruity sweetness and a smooth, full-bodied flavor, accompanied by a delicate brown sugar aroma and a long finish.

This is a specialty coffee that embodies the spirit of "innovation × science × passion," symbolizing the commitment to quality and sustainability of Costa Rican producers' new generation.
