This is the sixth winning lot in the "Experimental" category of the 2024 El Salvador Cup of Excellence.
The competition is divided into three categories based on the extraction method: "Washed, Honey", "Natural" and "Experimental". The experimental categories differ from the traditional washed, honey and natural varieties in that some batches use new techniques in their preparation. It is refined to bring you complex and exotic flavors and aromas.
Las Delicias Farm is located in the Iramatepec Mountains in Palo de Campana, El Salvador, which is famous for producing high-quality coffee. The Iramatepec Mountains are one of the highest peaks for coffee cultivation in El Salvador, and about 60% of this year’s COE winning entries came from Iramatepec.
In line with the farm’s strategic plan, Las Delicias Farm created a “protocol” that defines all the work that takes place on the farm, and according to this protocol, the work is carried out precisely throughout the year. There are clear regulations for all work related to the farm, including the order of work, how to choose shade trees, how to choose coffee, when to choose windbreaks, the five-year renovation method, formulating fertilizers based on soil analysis, cleaning, etc.
Las Delicias Farm was founded in the early 1950s and has had its COE since 2003, so you can feel the depth of its history.
