Japanese Incense Incense Oedo Incense - longevity chrysanthemum

Regular price HK$180.00

Edo (Tokyo’s old name) culture was a playful and stylish one, born from a combination of elegance and commonplace, vulgarity and refinement. People enjoy the four seasons, cherish their friends and neighbors, and live a vibrant life.
This collection was created by a Tokyo-based incense burner master to express the fragrant scent of old Edo. A thin column of smoke summons you to the world of sleek modernism that Edo represented. We invite you to immerse yourself in the fragrant world of Edo.

chrysanthemum
It is said that gardeners in Komagome and Sugamo near Edo started the chrysanthemum craze in the Edo period. Edo residents loved fancy and spectacle, beautiful and fragrant flowers that were displayed or molded into various shapes. Since ancient times, people have believed that chrysanthemums can increase longevity, and the Chrysanthemum Festival during the Edo period became an annual event where people drank chrysanthemum wine and medicinal flowers. The smooth, refreshing scent of chrysanthemums will delight you like a resident of old Edo.
