LIGHT UP COFFEE LAS COLINAS GEISHA - COSTA RICA

Sale price HK$180.00

Tarrasú is Costa Rica's highest-yielding and highest-quality coffee-growing region. We have been working with the Candlira Coffee Factory, which produces coffee from Tarrasú, and we have been selling their coffee for over a decade.

Candela is Costa Rica's first microprocessor. A microprocessor is a small, self-operated processing plant located next to a farm, where farmers can process their own coffee. Before microprocessors, coffee farmers typically sold their harvested coffee cherries to local agricultural cooperatives by weight. Because coffee could only be sold by volume, it was difficult to increase the purchase price. To increase the value of their coffee, farmers began installing their own processing equipment and processing the beans to sell as green beans. This not only allowed them to sell their coffee at higher prices but also improved its flavor. Candlila can be seen as a pioneer of the microprocessor revolution, a trend that encouraged farmers to process and sell their coffee themselves, thus increasing its added value.
