The founder of Raw Sugar Roast is Mr. Masashi Oda, who has accumulated many years of experience in roasting coffee shops both domestically and internationally. He and Mr. Yuya Kosakata, the head roaster who has been a barista for about 10 years, share the same vision and unanimously stated that they "hope to change the current situation in the coffee industry where career development is limited, and give baristas more opportunities to showcase their talents."
Founded in Tokyo in 2019, Raw Sugar Roast started as a roasted bean wholesaler and opened a roastery near Tokyo's Haneda Airport in the spring of 2021. Since the early 2000s, they have been dedicated to preserving a diverse coffee culture. Furthermore, drawing on their extensive coffee experience in Japan and overseas, they strive daily to create flavors they believe are truly delicious. Raw Sugar Roast's motto is to express the diverse cultures they have experienced around the world through coffee.
Raw Sugar Roast uses Dutch-made Giesen roasters. "Improving coffee quality" has been their goal since their inception, encompassing not only taste but also a shift in the concept of coffee. They respect all aspects of coffee culture to date and are committed to preserving them while forging a new future. They hope that the flavors created by Raw Sugar Roast, inheriting the delicious coffee from producers, can benefit as many people as possible.
