New coffee from Kenya hits the market at the beginning of the new year. Kenya is one of GLITCH’s iconic origins since its inception.
The consignment came from the Gura area in the center of Nyeri, Kenya. This coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,800 to 2,100 meters and comes from small farmers in the surrounding area.
The processing method is to clean thoroughly. The cherries are delivered to the wet mill that day and carefully hand-sorted to select only the fully ripe cherries. They are pulped, traditionally naturally fermented to remove mucilage, soaked, and then carefully sun-dried on African beds. These precise processing steps enhance Nyeri's unique bright and juicy acidity.
