Mel Coffee KENYA Kiamabara AA - Light
The Kiamabara coffee factory, located near Karatina in the Neri district, belongs to the Mugaga Cooperative. Built in the 1980s, the factory processes coffee cherries from nearby coffee farms. The cherries delivered to the factory are first peeled and then soaked in the circulating water of the nearby King's River. After peeling, the cherries undergo fermentation overnight before being soaked again in the circulating water.
Depending on the weather, temperature, and processing volume, coffee cherries are dried on African-style drying beds for 7 to 15 days until they reach the appropriate moisture content. The factory is committed to strictly adhering to traditional Kenyan processing techniques.
Their goal is to secure higher prices for producers, provide consumers with high-quality coffee, and promote the sustainable development of the coffee industry. They believe that improving farmers' agricultural skills is paramount. With the support of coffee management service companies, they are increasing coffee production through various measures, including agricultural training, seminars, and updating agricultural manuals distributed to farmers. We also help farmers raise funds to pay for their children's education and invest in their land, laying the foundation for their hard work.
