ONIBUS COFFEE KENYA / Kagumoini
Kenya is known as one of the best countries in the world for the quality of coffee it produces. Nyeri District is located northwest of Nairobi, at the foot of the mountains between Mount Kenya National Park and Aberdare National Park. Nyeri District is a popular region in Kenya for its rich fruity characteristics.
The Kagumoini plant is a washing station for the Mgaga Agricultural Cooperative, which consists of about 1,000 farmers living in five nearby villages. In addition to coffee, they also produce tea, corn and bananas. The Mgaga Agricultural Cooperative also manages four other mills: Gatina, Gasug, Keini and Kiamabara.
The production process involves traditional washing and fermentation, followed by depulping using four pulpers. The main water source is cool water drawn from the nearby Ruiru River, which is used for fermentation and mucus removal. The Kagumoini factory continuously strives to produce high-quality coffee and improve the living environment by sending employees to receive technical guidance and improve the educational environment through national government agencies.
