Mel Coffee COLOMBIA El Pedregal Geisha
Martha Solid Sánchez’s foray into the world of coffee began five years ago when she and her brother bought a farm for their father in the Alto de Topa region of Insa, Cauca. The farm already had a field growing the Colombian Amarillo variety, but Martha decided to try the Geisha variety.
Although some other growers in the area advised against continuing to grow Geisha due to its complexity, Martha and her family decided to continue growing Geisha.
Her father lived on the farm and had always been in charge of the farm. Over time, they have successfully adapted to the difficult Geisha cultivation and now achieve good results in coffee quality. When Martha was a teacher in the town of Inza, she would go to the farm every weekend.
