THE COFFEESHOP GUATEMALA / Finca Villaure Las Lomas
Rich fruitiness, full of sweetness! This washed process coffee comes from the renowned region of Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
Huehuetenango is located in northwestern Guatemala, near the Mexican border. Within Huehuetenango, the Hoja Blanca region has garnered significant attention in recent years as a specialty coffee producing area. The farm owner, Aurelio Villatoro, carefully processes the coffee cherries harvested daily, using a small depulping machine to remove the fruit pulp and produce parchment coffee.
Furthermore, before drying, the washed parchment coffee is soaked in pools called "Remojo" for 24 hours. This process balances the moisture content of the coffee beans, resulting in a more rounded and full-bodied flavor in the cup. This Remojo processing method is also very common in East African countries.
This is another coffee we regularly offer, a washed process bean from the Las Lomas plot of Finca Villaure. Produced using a unique method from the water-rich Huehuetenango region, it boasts a very clean flavor.
Every year, this lot presents an elegant fruity sweetness, and this year's red apple, apricot, and fresh orange fruit notes are particularly prominent, making for exceptional quality. At the same time, the sweet aroma of hazelnut coexists harmoniously with the fruitiness, bringing out the unique, profound character of Guatemalan coffee. The perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, aroma, and smooth mouthfeel truly makes this an amazing everyday favorite.
