THE COFFEESHOP EL SALVADOR / COE2024 #11 Las Duanas Pacamara
Floral and creamy, this lot is a COE Award winner, bursting with Pacamara charm!
THE COFFEESHOP proudly launches Pacamara coffee from El Salvador, a famous variety known to everyone.
This batch of coffee is top-quality specialty coffee and won 11th place in the 2024 COE Experimental Coffee Competition.
The aroma of coffee in the cup can be expressed by "Floral aroma and creamy richness!" I think the quality of the coffee truly reflects the characteristics of high-quality Pacamara coffee.
Even at high temperatures, the floral scent remains constant. It exudes an elegant and delicate aroma, especially the fragrance of white flowers.
At the same time, there is also a hint of fruitiness, blending the scents of apple, ripe cherry, pear and tropical fruits.
Although there is no particularly obvious fruit flavor, the aroma of various fruits is layered and progressive.
As the temperature drops, the acidity and cream of tartar develop, revealing aromas of orange and berries. Its smooth mouthfeel also has a subtle black tea-like flavor, allowing it to be fully enjoyed regardless of temperature.
The beans are lightly roasted to maximize their high potential, so try to extract them at a high yield to fully extract their nutrients!
Las Duanas Farm is located at 1910 meters above sea level in Alotepec Metapán, surrounded by picturesque scenery such as the flowers and pine trees of the Miramundo Hills and the town of La Palma.
Las Duanas originally grew other crops, but under the leadership of current owner Gutierrez, the farm decided to focus solely on coffee.
However, getting to the farm wasn't easy; it was far from home and there were no roads, so they had to travel by horseback. At first, the Gutierrez family wasn't entirely convinced.
However, seeing Gutierrez's passion for coffee and the environment, each family member is now fully committed to their work.
This passion was fully demonstrated in their winning of the COE Award.
“Las Duanas Farm may be small, but it’s a place with big dreams,” the Gutierrez family said. Their goal is to one day open their own café or restaurant, educate people about the high quality of El Salvadoran coffee, export their product, and support coffee growers in the region to produce even better coffee.
