LIGHT UP COFFEE FAZENDA RIO BRILHANTE - BRAZIL (SWEET)

Regular price HK$126.00 Sale price $180.00

Rio Brilhante (Bright River), acquired by Inacio Urban in 1984, is one of the largest coffee producing estates in Brazil, covering more than 1,600 hectares. The 700-hectare farm grows crops such as cotton, soybeans, corn, tomatoes and beans.

Coffee production focuses on good cultivation practices. The soil and coffee plant leaves are analyzed each season and necessary adjustments are made to ensure maximum yield. Trees are pruned regularly to improve yields, and new disease-resistant varieties are introduced to the farm.

The farm supports various social projects in the area. The largest of these is Seeds of Change, which offers specialized classes for farm employees and their families. We also support the local school "Escolinha Tia Edna" and several open-air libraries through the "Ponto do Livro" project.

After harvesting, the cherries are spread thinly on the terrace and left to dry for 15 days. Place out of direct sunlight, watching the cherries carefully and stirring frequently. It was then dried in a mechanical tumble dryer for a further 24 hours. After drying, the cherries are bagged and left to rest for 40 days before being transported to a dry mill for processing.
