LIGHT UP COFFEE LA CANDELILLA - COSTA RICA (SOFT)

Sale price HK$180.00

LIGHT UP COFFEE buys "Costa Rica Candelilla" coffee every year. The quality of this Costa Rican coffee improves every year, and we wholeheartedly recommend it.

We source this coffee every year and this season is our eighth. In 2018, we updated our wet grinder (washed equipment), which improved the clarity of the coffee, brighter acidity, more fruity flavors, and a sweeter taste.

"Candelilla" means "firefly" in Spanish, the official language of Costa Rica. The refinery got its name from the clear waters here, where fireflies live.

Coffee beans picked from nine surrounding farms are transported to the refinery around 5pm, where they are carefully selected and refined.

The establishment of the Candelilla refinery has undergone a series of scrutiny from quality to picking and equipment. The skill level of the “pickers” who pick the coffee has also improved, and the precision of picking has also increased so that only coffee of consistent quality is picked.

Bringing out the personality of each coffee bean vividly while having a pleasant balance that will make you want to drink again tomorrow. Their goal in sourcing and baking is to do both at the same time. Roasting is done intentionally so that the beans are transparent and the differences between each bean are clear, retaining their sweetness even after cooling.

Their roasting team purchases unique green beans from various green bean trading companies and roasts them using Probat UG22.Masu at their roastery in Mitaka. Roasted coffee is cupped every week to check its quality and continue to update roasting methods. They share information such as roasting intentions with everyone in the weekly report, coordinate the "taste" of each store every month, and the entire team pursues quality and strives to provide customers with the most delicious coffee.
