Sumawar de Lourdes coffee represents Costa Rica. This small coffee processing plant is managed by Francisco Mena, president of the specialty coffee exporter "Exclusive Coffee." Mena is a key figure in Costa Rica's growing specialty coffee industry. He uses his experience and knowledge to produce coffee of exceptional quality. By allowing exporters to produce on-site, they can share technical and management advice, fostering a producer-centric exchange of ideas, improving coffee quality, and making it an important "model farm." Therefore, Sumahua Coffee keeps abreast of trends in its production process, such as processing methods, varieties, and the growing of coffee at high altitudes in recent years. They have consistently collaborated with many coffee producers to continuously improve coffee quality and won the Cup of Excellence award in 2016. Milenio is a hybrid variety originating in Ethiopia, a cross between the Rume Sudan and Sarchimor. The hybrid was developed to combine disease resistance and high yield while maintaining quality, thus helping farmers improve production efficiency. The Milénio variety is widely cultivated in Central America, especially in Costa Rica, and is renowned for its excellent quality.
