LIGHT UP COFFEE GAKUYUINI - KENYA (JUICY)

Regular price HK$112.00 Sale price $160.00

Kenyan fruity coffee. Fruity aromas of redcurrant, orange and cherry burst with the mild flavor of fructose syrup. The finish has a hint of blackcurrant.

Gakuyuini is Tirikuwa's only ws.
It has been the highest-paid worker in Kenya for the past four years as it has historically fetched high prices in the international market. The factory opened in 1997 and the factory manager has been working there for over 20 years. During the peak season, up to 1,200 farmers transport cherries to the factory.

The cherries are hand picked and sorted before pulping. Farmers started loading material around 11 a.m. and the pulper started operating around 3 p.m. Let the parchment ferment overnight, then wash and grade. P1 and P2 are soaked for about 16 hours, and other grades are directly transferred to the drying table. Then, dry on a drying rack for 8 to 14 days.

During the day, the factory reuses water drawn from the Kiri River, which flows through the middle of the factory site, to process cherries.
We also distribute manure to farmers as fertilizer.
