ONIBUS COFFEE HONDURAS / Olvin Valle
Introducing coffee from Olvin Valle, a new producer in the Santa Barbara province.
His Cruz Grande farm is one of the consistently high scoring farms there since we started sourcing coffee in Honduras in 2016, and we didn't have enough opportunity to work on it, but we were able to finish in the end. Buy.
Mr. Olvin's Cruz Grande farm, which produces its own coffee while working for local exporter San Vicente, is located in the mountains of Santa Barbara province and has an impressive and well-ventilated production environment due to its rugged terrain and high altitude.
The strong wind seems to blow towards Lake Yohoa all of a sudden, which is the source of the temperature difference and the tailwind that creates the best production environment, but in rare cases, even coffee cherries are grown. It is easily shaken off, so harvesting seems to be done in seven or eight times.
In this area I see many producers harvesting in batches, but Cruz Grande Farm gave the impression that their harvest batches were particularly small, possibly due to the strong winds.
The farm mainly produces Catuai varieties, but also produces Pacas varieties, which can be said to be the specialty varieties of the Santa Barbara area, but the Catuai variety he produces is particularly wonderful, with expressive qualities such as rich dried fruits and ripe stone fruits. Somehow it reminds me of the background of coffee cherries surviving strong winds and thriving.
I hope you take your time and enjoy it until the temperature drops a bit. The result is coffee like this. I'd love it if you could pick it up and experience it.
Olvin Valle’s coffee is supported by local exporter “San Vicente”.
