THE COFFEESHOP ETHIOPIA / Tamiru Tadesse Murago
The high-quality natural coffee produced by Tamir tastes like a mellow wine brewed from ripe fruits!
Tamiru Tadesse, the owner of ALO COFFEE PLC and one of Ethiopia’s top young coffee producers, won first, second and third place in the 2021 Ethiopian COE competition.
We've featured his coffees many times on THE COFFEESHOP, and most recently you might remember "ALO Berry Underscreen," a batch brewed exclusively from small berries.
The coffee from "ALO Berry Underscreen" has a fresh taste reminiscent of Muscat wine, while the "Murago" we're introducing today has a richer taste with a sexy black-purple aroma.
ALO Berry and Murago come from three regions: Sidama, Bensa and Bona respectively, but are actually from different villages: Alo and Murago.
Both coffees are grown at extremely high altitudes, between 2,300 and 2,400 meters, areas that were little known before Tamiru appeared in COE.
Overall, they come from the same region, but their cup flavors are completely different.
The main flavor of this Murago coffee is reminiscent of black and purple fruits such as blueberries, blackberries and grapes. As the temperature changes, its fermentation and sweetness will make it taste like brandy, a distilled liquor.
It also has the complex flavors of a premium Ethiopian Natural, with subtle notes of peach and nectarine emerging as the temperature drops. Compared to the juicy and youthful ALO Berry, this coffee has a slightly more sensual and mature appeal.
Tamiru Tadesse's coffee has recently gained fame due to its numerous television appearances.
I personally think this coffee has a rich flavor that truly lives up to its "champion" status. Don't miss it!
